Word verification

Spammers are going crazy in the comments box at the moment; I received 10 immediately after posting the last entry, so I've had to turn on word verification for comments. I'm sorry - it's tedious, but hopefully won't be too much of a deterrent to leave your comments, because I love reading them!

  • I started getting hit last week...I guess it took this long for the jerks to even notice food bloggers; seems like all of us were being spammed around the same time.

  • Hi Niki I was coming over to email you to say it was surprisingly very easy to put in the extra "security" and voila you have done it! I think that we all despise spammers more than having to put in word verification so it won't stop me from commenting.

  • Certainly wont stop me either! I put word verification up at F&T too - what's UP with all these spammers? I'm glad Blogger's done something so they're easier to get rid of!

  • Oh Niki, as you could see, I had to do it too! Unbelievable, isn't it? And do these spammers really think I'll be interested in visiting their Gastric Bypass Pill site?

    I might be slightly amused if the spam was well written and original, but it seems they've all copied a form comment from one another!

  • Hey, it's K from Square One here... just to say hello and thanks for coming by. Like you, I treasure the comments I get (and I don't get so many of them - I suppose the upside is that I haven't been spammed either).

    I've never been to a food blog before but will definitely have a look around here (given that in a few months I will have to cook things for someone other than myself to eat, I probably could do with some education...)
